LOU SCIMECCA is Senior Vice President and Media/Entertainment Product Manager for AXIS PRO, a business unit of the Professional Lines Division of AXIS Insurance. AXIS PRO, formerly Media/Professional Insurance, underwrites professional liability insurance for Media businesses including newspapers, magazines, book publishers, authors, freelancer writers, radio and television broadcasters and networks, advertising agencies, film producers and distributors, and multimedia companies including internet and online exposures. Scimecca began his insurance career in 1981 underwriting and marketing Commercial Lines Property/Casualty insurance for The Travelers. In 1985 he joined Employers Reinsurance Corporation where he spent 15 years, at the New York branch and in the Kansas City home office, in various Media underwriting, marketing, product development, reinsurance and management roles. In 1999, Scimecca joined First Media Insurance Specialists, now part of One Beacon, and established its New York office. He joined Media/Professional in 2003 followed by AXIS in 2007 in conjunction with the acquisition of Media/Pro by AXIS. Lou earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University in 1981.
PAT GROSHONG is Assistant Vice President – Claims at AXIS PRO in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law, where he was Articles and Comments Editor of the UMKC Law Review. During his time with AXIS PRO, he has worked with numerous film studios, broadcasters, book publishing houses, newspaper companies, and music recording and publishing companies, among others. Groshong is past chair of the Media & the Law Seminar, a nationally-recognized seminar produced annually in Kansas City, and the current chair of the Media Law Committee of the Missouri Bar Association.
BOBBI STRIEGEL is a Senior Underwriter for AXIS PRO, a business unit of the Professional Lines Division of AXIS Insurance. Striegel began her insurance career in 2007 underwriting and marketing Personal Lines for Chubb Insurance. In 2010 she joined AXIS PRO as a Professional Lines Underwriter specializing in Media,
Technology, Security/Privacy and Miscellaneous E&O coverage. Striegel earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance in 2004 from the University of Central Missouri. In 2008 she completed her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from Baker University.
