Horse&Rider is pleased to announce Linde von Köding as the winner of the Horse&Rider Trainer of the Year Program.
The Trainer of the Year Program was implemented to recognize horse trainers that have had a positive impact on their clients, or the industry. Nominations for this contest involved both a written essay, and a video outlining the contributions of this trainer. This program is an opportunity to highlight and celebrate a horse trainer who exemplifies what it means to be a good steward of the equine industry. Out of all the trainers nominated, 10 finalists were selected, with one earning the title of Trainer of the Year.
Horse&Rider Magazine is thrilled to announce Linde von Köding as the winner of the 2023 Trainer of the Year. Köding is a trainer, coach, and well-respected NRHA and AQHA judge, based out of Scottsdale, AZ. Specializing in training reining horses, and coaching non-pros, Köding is no stranger to the winner’s circle and is known for her determination to put the horse first, create a welcoming environment for clients, and her success in the show pen.
“I am nominating Linde to be trainer of the year,” says Brooke Curd, a rider who has learned from Linde. “If you have met Linde, you would see her passion and care for her riders and horses and know undoubtedly that she deserves this title a million times over. But that’s not the only quality making her trainer of the year worthy, Linde always makes time for you and makes sure to teach you right with a smile on her face (even if it takes all day long to learn a lead change). Linde will show up every time and make learning fun no matter what. It takes a great trainer to not only make such well-rounded and happy horses, but riders too. She has cultivated a love for reining with many people, and she is a great example of good discipline, hard work, and an exceptional horsewoman.”
Prizes for the first ever Horse&Rider Trainer of the Year were provided by Nutramax Laboratories Veterinary Sciences, Inc. makers of Cosequin®️. In addition, Köding will be interviewed for Horse&Rider’s podcast, The Ride, and be featured in a special training feature on HorseandRider.com
