Barrel racing is in full swing at the Josey Ranch in Karnack,Texas! This weekend is the Josey Reunion 4D Barrel Race, a $10,000 added barrel race open to any barrel racer who has attended a Josey Clinic, and next weekend is the Josey Jr World 4D Barrel Race. Running for $10,000 added money, the Josey Jr World Barrel Race is open to any barrel racer 20 years old or younger and is one of the longest running youth barrel races in the country.
Coinciding with these exciting barrel races is the debut of a custom FLAIR Strip specially designed for World Champion Barrel Racer Martha Josey. Emblazoned on the red Strip is the phrase “Get the Money!!” along with Martha’s signature. The Signature FLAIR Strip will be awarded for prizes and available for sale at the Josey Western Store.
Martha Josey and her late husband R.E. founded the Josey Ranch in 1967 and have spent 55 years teaching future generations. The Josey Ranch is the longest-running rodeo school in the world and has had over 300,000 students attend their clinics. In addition to other honors, Martha is a WPRA, AQHA, and NBHA World Champion, she has been inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, has competed at National Finals Rodeo for four consecutive decades, and received an Olympic Team Gold medal and an Individual Bronze medal at Calgary in 1988. She also has been a featured athlete on the iconic Wheaties box. Martha is truly a living legend!
