Join Us in Celebrating Two National Horse Events in July

Are you #HereforHorses? On July 15 and July 17, join the American Horse Council (AHC) and the AHC Marketing Alliance in celebrating “National I Love Horses Day” and “National Meet a Horse Day”. On these special days, share your love for horses with your friends, family, and community by tagging #HereforHorses and encourage everyone to participate to promote events and opportunities to introduce people to horses! By actively promoting and providing opportunities, we’ll be able to introduce more people to the world of horses.

“As part of our ongoing efforts, the AHC is dedicated to introducing people to horses and making the horse industry more accessible,” emphasized AHC President Julie Broadway. “Summer presents a perfect opportunity for families to connect with their local stables and consider adding horse activities to their schedules. We hope that members of the horse community will open their stables and farms, inviting neighbors, community groups, and others for a ‘meet and greet’ to experience the joy horses bring.

Mark your calendars for Monday, July 15, 2024, as it is “National I Love Horses Day”— A day dedicated to celebrating the horse in all its glory. Horses, universally cherished and revered, have played a pivotal role in human history since their domestication in ancient times. Their adaptability has seen them used in diverse fields, from agriculture and transportation to entertainment and, most recently, recognized as service animals.

Wednesday July 17, 2024, is “National Meet a Horse Day” — A day when families are warmly welcomed into stables, camps, clubs and organizations. This is not just about meeting a horse, it’s about fostering a lifelong connection with these magnificent creatures. “National Meet-A-Horse Day is a wonderful to introduce brand-new enthusiasts to horses,” said Broadway. “Horses inspire so much joy, wonder, and curiosity, and this day is all about making riding and connecting with horses more accessible in our communities.”

National Meet-A-Horse Day coincides with National Day of the Cowboy and AHC encourages hosts to use this opportunity to create events that incorporate both themes! Giddy Up!
