EQUUS Television Network, the equine world’s premier destination for equestrian and equine-related content, is heading to Ocala, Florida from March 20 through the 24th. While the nucleus of its visit will be the featured $770,000 Longines League of Nations, which takes place on Saturday, March 23 at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), in between they will be sharing even more of the equine action in Ocala.
Even though the featured event doesn’t start until Saturday, many of the top riders in the world will arrive earlier in the week to take advantage of other high-profile classes. On Thursday evening, March 21, the top show jumping riders will test the challenges in the $330,000 Lugano Diamonds Grand Prix CSIO5.
“As we prepare for our coverage of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games sharing events that showcase the top equestrians in the world gives our viewers the opportunity to witness the skill and determination of these international athletes,” commented EQUUS Television Network Worldwide Equestrian Correspondent Diana De Rosa.
While a lot will be taking place at WEC, Ocala is a hot bed for equestrian action and throughout this equine centric location there will be plenty of other things happening for the EQUUS TV team to capture. On Thursday two special events will be happening. In the afternoon the focus will be the Ocala Chamber Equine Initiative at 2pm followed by the Ocala Chamber General Meeting at 5pm.
Once Saturday arrives, it will be time for the world’s elite show jumping riders to face off against a challenging course in the two round League’s North American Qualifier. Only four locations were chosen for this prestigious team competition series and Ocala was among the winning locations. Since Nations Cup competitions have been in the forefront of what the FEI supports, this upgraded competition combines both the traditions of the past while incorporating the excitement of what show jumping brings to the audience.
The first competition took place in Abu Dhabi before heading to Ocala. Next the event moves to St. Gallen (SUI) followed by Rotterdam (NED). The grand finale will take place in Barcelona (ESP) in October, where the top ten teams that begin the tournament will be narrowed down to the top eight goaling for the first ever title.
For its second leg in Ocala, EQUUS Television Network will be there capturing all the action. So, be sure to tune in to equustelevision.net to see behind-the-scenes footage of this prestigious event, with a flavor of Ocala mixed in between.
