Dip Into New Equestrian Articles and Opportunities With Nikki Alvin-Smith

As a recently published novelist Nikki Alvin-Smith is busy with her activities on book tours, podcasts and promotion of her romantic fiction title that captures life with horses and High Society in The Dutchess of Chadwick. But despite all the bookwork, this seasoned professional equestrian competitor/writer and PR/marketing specialist still has plenty of fresh articles in her stable of works for the equine industry.

Her popular blog Classical Dressage Art in Motion has caused quite the commotion with its latest feature, Can a Straight Horse Boarding Business Make Money while her in stock website of First Rights continues to offer up an extensive menu of multi-discipline articles that yield plenty of attention, including some recent additions you won’t want to miss.

“It’s essential as a writer to be in touch with the day-to-day concerns within your profession. As an advanced level clinician that travels the world I have plenty of opportunity to talk with colleagues and fellow equine industry professionals about what is going on and what is of interest. I’m constantly out there enjoying the horse realm from several perspectives and writing about it all is my passion. I love sharing my love of all things horses from a fun and educational perspective, wherever life leads me.”

Upcoming travels alongside The Dutchess of Chadwick book tour and publishing promotion events in the United Kingdom, will include visits to the Suffolk Punch Trust; attendance at regional equestrian art exhibitions; a visit with a real ‘Duchess’ and fellow horse aficionado over tea; and carriage driving the Suffolk lanes in Constable/Turner country. Plus time with folks on the other side of horsepower at the Aston Martin Museum and at TV’s farmer advocate, Jeremy Clarkson’s The Farmer’s Dog.

“Wherever I go there are always horses involved. And there is always plenty to learn, despite my decades of experience in the industry as both a professional writer and professional horse person. The horse community resource magazine that I founded 13 years ago, Catskill Horse, is often the recipient of horse breed and travel articles with news I capture in my travels. And I welcome publishers to reach out if they are interested in driving articles or tailored features on the heavy (or draft as they are called here) horses. I am always happy to work on assignment.”

The breadth of work that is encompassed in Nikki Alvin-Smith’s portfolio continues to expand. From regular features that include this venue, with which AHP members will be familiar where she presents shareable content for members from notable companies like Horizon Structures, Grand Meadows, Cavalor, and Horsemen’s Laboratory, Nikki also works her wordsmith wizardry to build other industry brands such as the leading material science company E-Chem Consultants and investment firms.

“In recent years my experiences have extended into the TV and film world, and while I’d love to be sitting at Stafford House having tea with Lord Julian Fellowes and talking Downton Abbey and my new book on the Gilded Age, I’m pretty sure that the activities planned for this tour will be pretty full-on even without a trip down to Dorset. Though I am taking in other tours too to complete research for my next book in The Dutchess of Chadwick Saga, at Rothschild’s beautiful Waddeston Manor. I am originally from Buckinghamshire and my grandfather worked as a lad at Rothschild’s Southcourt Stud . As a kid I would visit Rothschild’s wonderful racehorse mare band and learned a lot about conformation and how to discern top-quality horseflesh. I am particularly looking forward to discover the collection of art and décor of that grand manor and explore these other interests of the family. It was the same grandfather that sat me on my first pony at age 9. I was immediately besotted with all things equine. We shared a love of all animals but especially horses and he also taught me about hay production, something I have taken into my organic horse hay farming business.”
