American Horse Council Announces Future Leaders Professional Development Scholarships

Beginning in 2025, the American Horse Council (AHC) Foundation will offer five (5) “Future Leaders Professional Development” Scholarships to cover the cost of conference registration for Agriculture/ Equine college students wishing to attend the AHC Annual Conference in Washington DC.

AHC President, Julie Broadway stated, “As many of you in the industry know, since becoming President at AHC one of my personal goals has been to recruit and engage young professionals into the equine industry! I speak to numerous universities and young adult organizations and the one thing we repeatedly hear is they want to know what careers options are available and how to navigate the industry to get opportunities for roles they desire. The AHC Foundation Trustees and I are excited to offer these scholarships to expose students to industry leaders and offer educational content on a wide range of topics to help them get started on their careers.”

AHC President Marilyn Bertera added “This is part of AHCs ongoing dedication to workforce development and fostering inclusivity within the equine community –which fits into AHC’s youth engagement and DEI task forces objectives. We look forward to these young professionals attending the AHC Conference.”

Broadway noted, the AHC Foundation (501C3) would welcome donations from interested parties to help also possibly offer stipends to defray student travel expenses. If you would like to support these scholarships and help with this, please contact Broadway at jbroadway@horsecouncil.org

Applications will be accepted beginning March 1, 2025, and recipients will be announced no later than April 15,2025.
