INSP to also premiere unscripted original series “Guts and Glory” on Sunday, Jan. 30 featuring competitors vying to compete at The American
Teton Ridge, the pioneering new western entertainment brand offering consumers legendary and iconic sports, products, and experiences, today announced a broadcast partnership with leading national cable network INSP.
The network will air the richest single-day rodeo in the world, The American, live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday March 6 at 4 p.m. ET.
With this year’s unprecedented total purse of more than $3 million, The American’s payout now rivals that of the Kentucky Derby. The treasured event is also the most unique in all of western sports because it brings together top professional rodeo athletes and hardworking cowboys and cowgirls in a winner-take-all showdown to crown the world’s finest champions.
In the weeks leading up to The American, INSP will also broadcast the world television premiere of Teton Ridge’s all-new action-packed, unscripted original series, “Guts and Glory.” The five-episode series will air on INSP every Sunday at 5 p.m. ET beginning Jan. 30 and running through Feb. 27.
“Guts and Glory” chronicles twelve rodeo athletes hailing from the Midwest and beyond, as they arrive in Texas to compete for the life-changing opportunity to compete for millions at The American alongside storied icons of the sport.
“The mission of Teton Ridge is to make western culture, lifestyle and sports more accessible to more people. The vast reach of INSP, a network beloved by millions of western fans, makes it the perfect place for consumers to watch this larger-than-life original series and the unforgettable live action of The American,” said Jonathan Katz, CEO, Teton Ridge.

“We are excited about partnering with Teton Ridge to bring this compelling Western content to our INSP audience,” commented Dale Ardizone, INSP’s COO. “We are confident our viewers will find these programs engaging and entertaining. The American promises to be a one-of-a kind event with incredible energy, and we believe the Guts and Glory series will draw in those INSP fans who love the action and suspense of cowboy themed competition. We are very pleased to be able to include this content in our lineup and look forward to working with Teton Ridge on similar ventures in the future.”
Hosting and judging “Guts and Glory” are rodeo legend J.B. Mauney and esteemed barrel racer Tammy Fischer. Together, they will select who advances and who goes home as contestants compete in saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping and barrel racing challenges.
Mauney is regarded as one of the greatest bull riders in rodeo history, becoming the richest western sports athlete of all time with nearly $7.3 million in earnings. Tied for career event wins, coming in a close second in career qualified rides and second in qualified rides for 90 or more points, Mauney is a two-time PBR World Champion and 2021 NFR qualifier.
Fischer, a professional barrel racer and trainer since 1994, has a long list of titles and achievements under her belt as a seven-time NFR Qualifier with multiple round wins. She boasts two AQHA world championships, in addition to being named the 1999 BFA Futurity World Champion, being awarded the 1999 Futurity Horse of the Year and much more.
Through a succession of competitions and eliminations each week in the one-hour episodes, the steadfast and hopeful contestants will try to outride their opponents, build a legacy and future for their families, and prove that they have both the guts and the glory to qualify for The American.
The winner of “Guts and Glory” will battle it out against the field of other qualifying athletes for a chance to move on to AT&T Stadium and their opportunity to become a champion, earning what could be the biggest single-day paycheck of their careers.
Ultimately the Top 10 athletes overall that make it to The American’s final field on Sunday, March 6 will be eligible for their discipline’s $100,000 prize money and will also have their shot at the bonus millions – making the stakes higher than ever for these hopefuls.
