Zoetis Continues its Support of American Horse Publications Programs
Zoetis (formerly Pfizer Animal Health) has a long history partnering with American Horse Publications on programs that have benefited both the horse industry and equine publishing.
This year, Zoetis will sponsor the prestigious awards banquet which serves as the prelude to the announcement of the winners in the AHP Annual Awards Contest. The awards presentations take place during the association’s annual seminar in San Antonio, Texas on June 20. “AHP’s mission is to promote excellence in equine publishing,” says Christine Brune, AHP Executive Director. “There were 837 entries in this year’s contest. The finalists in over 60 classes will be recognized for their achievements in equine publishing,” Brune says.
In 2015, American Horse Publications conducted its third national Equine Industry Survey. Zoetis, who co-sponsored the previous two surveys in 2010 and 2012, is the sole sponsor for the 2015 survey which closed on April 1. The data collected will gauge participation trends and management practices in the U.S. equine industry, identify critical issues facing the equine industry as perceived by those who own or manage horses, and better understand issues pertaining to horse health. AHP members promoted the survey through their print publications, websites, social media outlets, and communities of horse owners. The survey results will be released by Zoetis and AHP members through their own channels prior to releasing them to the general equine industry in fall 2015.
The Equine Industry Vision Award was founded in 2002 when a partnership between Pfizer Animal Health and American Horse Publications was formed to establish this award that recognizes innovation, leadership and service in the equine industry. The winners of this prestigious award have been true visionaries who have left indelible marks in the equine world.
Prior to 2015, Zoetis sponsored the AHP Student Award Party for over 20 years. The event celebrates the AHP Student Award, a program initiated in 1993 to promote awareness to students of the career opportunities available in equine publishing.
The partnership between AHP and Zoetis demonstrates how the equine industry can work together to provide vital statistics and to recognize excellence and vision in the equine industry. “The team at Zoetis has been supportive of all of these worthwhile endeavors and AHP is appreciative of their continued partnership,” says Brune.
