Call for Presentations and Sponsorships for the 2024 American Horse Council Conference

As the premiere gathering for equine industry professionals, leaders, enthusiasts and stakeholders, the American Horse Council’s Annual Meeting and National Issues Forum is the place to find a captive audience. The Annual Meeting provides a unique platform for sharing insights, networking and driving the industry forward while also motivating.

The 55th Annual Meeting of the American Horse Council (AHC) will provide an amazing opportunity for your organization or business to interface with equine professionals and industry thought leaders. The conference will be held at the Royale Sonesta in Washington, D.C., on  June 9-12, 2024. The AHC is currently accepting proposals for presentations and speaking opportunities, along with sponsorships for networking opportunities.

The success of the Annual Meeting hinges on the contributions of thought leaders, innovators and experts within the equine industry. The AHC invites individuals and organizations to submit presentation proposals that cover a diverse range of topics.

Proposals for speaking opportunities should be submitted to AHC President, Julie Broadway at jbroadway@horsecouncil.org no later than December 1, 2023, and should include a one-page abstract with a brief summary of the entire presentation. It is not appropriate or permitted for presentations to focus on selling or promoting materials or products. Authors selected for presentation will receive further instructions regarding the presentation. The topic must be original, relevant, non-political, and applicable to the equine industry. Authors should specify the setting best suited for the topic (i.e., a specific committee or National Forum).

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Equine health & behavior;
  • Equine education and research;
  • Approved completed research;
  • Association management;
  • Special sectors or populations;
  • State or federal advocacy strategies

(Note: Presenters are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation.)

General Timeline of the 2024 Conference

The Conference will kick off on Sunday, June 9 at 1:00 PM EDT with two committee meetings: Recreation Trails & Land Use and Racing Advisory. A networking event will follow.

The second day, Monday June 10, begins at 8:30 AM and will run until approximately 5:00 PM, and will feature the National Issues Forum, which includes sponsorship opportunities for breakfast and lunch; plus the welcome reception.

The third day, Tuesday June 11, starts at 8:00 AM and will run until approximately 5:00 PM will include committee meetings for Shows & Competition; Health, Regulatory, Welfare; and the United Horse Coalition. Tuesday will also feature the Annual Awards Luncheon.

On Wednesday, the AHC has arranged for visits with congressional members on Capitol Hill to highlight important legislative and regulatory issues to the equine industry. Attendees will be asked to sign up for the congressional offices they prefer as part of the registration process.

  • (2) Breakfast sponsorships: $2,500 (Monday & Tuesday)
  • Lunch sponsorship: $5,000 (Monday)
  • Welcome Reception & Networking: $7,500 (Monday evening)
  • Awards Luncheon: $7,500 (Tuesday)

Sponsorships include acknowledgement in all pre-conference press & social media; logo in conference program and signage; logo on AHC website for 1 month prior to conference; special acknowledgement and recognition at conference and 10-minute speaking opportunity at sponsored event. Plus, one free conference registration. Sponsorships may be made up of multiple organizations.
