Lynn Palm and The Dressage Foundation (TDF) are pleased to announce that five grants for Western dressage riders will be awarded from TDF’s Lynn Palm Western Dressage Fund this year. This Fund was established in 2019 to initially provide grants for Western dressage educational events and was expanded in 2021 to also provide $1,000 grants to riders for their Western dressage education.
Applicants can be professionals, amateurs, or youth. The grant review committee will look for applicants who are eager to grow and improve, have shown a passion for the sport, have financial need, and who have demonstrated a commitment to learning. Grants must be used for Western dressage educational experiences that are not within the horse and rider’s typical training plan. Examples include clinics, camps, more lessons than a rider normally receives, etc.
Palm said, “I am proud to see that each year the number and quality of applicants is growing for individual grants from the Lynn Palm Western Dressage Fund.”. Diane Davitt from Osteen, FL, was a grant recipient in the first year. Since then, she has attended numerous clinics and competitions including the WDAA World Show. Diane said receiving the grant “changed the trajectory of her riding.” She continues to foster her new found passion for Western Dressage.
Grants from the Lynn Palm Fund will continue to be available for Western dressage clinics, camps, and symposia. Those applications are due at least 90 days prior to the event. Applications for the Lynn Palm Western Dressage Fund for Individuals are due July 20.
