The National Reined Cow Horse Association Hires New Executive Director

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Board of Directors voted unanimously to promote Emily Konkel to the role of NRCHA Executive Director.

“During my time at the NRCHA, I have been fortunate to work in multiple departments within the association. I have learned this business from the inside out and could not be more excited to lead this organization that we all love so dearly,” Emily Konkel said. “Thank you to the NRCHA Board of Directors for trusting me with this role and I look forward to the future of the NRCHA.”

Konkel joined NRCHA in 2018 as shows manager, where she oversaw the affiliate program and managed horse show results. In 2021 she was promoted to premier events manager. In this role she was instrumental in launching both NRCHA Scoring and the CowHorse+ online entry portal. Additionally, the NRCHA saw a 15 percent increase across all of the premier events during this time.

“The NRCHA is excited to announce Emily Konkel as Executive Director of the organization. She has already proven to be an invaluable asset to the association,” NRCHA President, Boyd Rice said. “I am very honored to be working with her as she moves into this role.”

Konkel will assume the role of Executive Director effective immediately during the Teton Ridge Stallion Stakes.
