The EQUUS Television Network is already working on its 2023 coverage with one of its first stops to be the annual United States Equestrian Federation meeting which this year will take place in Lexington, KY, January 12-14.
This gathering focuses on the rules and regulations of the various horse sports that take place throughout the United States as well as honoring the many award winners.
“I enjoy covering this annual event,” commented EQTVN Worldwide Equestrian Correspondent Diana De Rosa. “It gives us a chance to meet up with the many people who attend and the members of the board who come from all the various disciplines throughout the United States.”
This year’s event will also offer a unique emphasis as this organization and annual event focuses on its present goals. Past president and Olympic Eventing Medalist David O’Connor will be overseeing a workshop giving an overview of his goals after being recently named to the role of USEF Chief of Sport.
To share more about this annual event and O’Connor’s goals, De Rosa did an in-depth interview to first give viewers a chance to remember all the great milestones he has achieved in his career as well as his goals for this new position. One of O’Connor’s greatest achievements was his Gold Medal victory at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney Australia. What he says in this interview will make it clear why he was chosen to head up this new position. O’Connor’s two-day interactive workshop, “Working Together for Our Future,” will take place on January 12-13 leading up to the General Session. The Pegasus Awards Celebration is on Thursday, January 12. The SmartPak/USEF Horse of the Year Awards Celebration happens on Saturday, January 14 as will the first Board of Directors Meeting of 2023. For more details go to usef.org.
The goal of the workshop is to focus on the changing landscape and current challenges of equestrian sport, including animal activism to federal oversight, protecting our equine and human athletes as well as the impact of social media and more.
Coverage of this event is only the tip of the iceberg for the EQUUS Television Network whose plans continue to evolve and include coverage of the various disciplines of show jumping, dressage, eventing, vaulting, polo, racing and all the other many Western and English happenings too many to mention.
Also, keep an eye out for its ever-growing breed section where EQTVN shares more about the various types of horses. This year’s coverage will also include the World Cup in Omaha, NE, April 4-8 and the XIX Pan Am Games October 20-November 5 in Santiago, Chile. And in 2024 the Olympic Games in France will be in its calendar of coverage events.
