The Montana Center for Horsemanship and EQUUS International Film Festival will announce both the annual Horsemanship Awards – Equine Icon, Lifetime Achievement and a new horsemanship education award as well as award winning films of EQUUS International 2022.
According to Janet Rose, director of development, communications and strategic partnerships and founder of EIFF, this year’s final judges are returning their decisions today and this year’s award winners will be announced shortly thereafter.
“This year’s films so deeply reflect the evolution and expansion of the horse-human relationship,” says Rose, “from wild horses and wild horse issues to the significant impact of the horse-human relationship on people worldwide. Other major films focus on horse-human therapies, Equine Paralympics, human healing through horses, training and performance. Selecting the Best Of films is going to be one of the toughest ever.”
The Montana Center for Horsemanship is hosting an annual Conference this September 8-10,”The Natural Horsemanship Revolution” and will be incorporating EQUUS International Film Festival into the Conference, featuring some of the best films selected this year, as well as the filmmakers themselves. Rose says that with additional sponsorships, she hopes to bring many of the award winning films to Missoula audiences later this year.
