From its humble beginnings in 2003, Road to the Horse has been dedicated to educating fans in the art of natural horsemanship. The event’s ability to be nimble, innovate and adapt in the changing world, has been its biggest strength. A return to Lexington will go down as another milestone in the event’s colorful history, along with a modification in the Road to the Horse 2022 Championship Competitor lineup. Road to the Horse is excited to welcome Canadian horsemanship clinician Glenn Stewart to the lineup, who will take the fourth competitor position from Matt Mills, who experienced a show scheduling issue.
A Road to the Horse fan favorite. Stewart partnered with Jonathon Field in 2012 to represent Team Canada in the International Edition of Road to the Horse. Road to the Horse 2022 will be Stewart’s first time to enter the event as an individual competitor. Glenn Stewart will join Brandi Lyons, Cole Cameron and Mike Major as they compete for the World Championship of Colt Starting title March 24-27 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
“The last time we had the pleasure of hosting a Canadian competitor was in 2015, so we’re excited to welcome Glenn Stewart to the Championship Competitor lineup in 2022,” stated Morris Equine Group President Tina Battock. “An international clinician, a wild horse ambassador and a desired keynote speaker, Glenn has dedicated his life to natural horsemanship and is a true representation of the passion Road to the Horse seeks to find.”
“I’m very excited and grateful to be asked to come back to Road to the Horse in 2022. I’d like to thank Road to the Horse for the invitation and the opportunity to compete, improve and spend a weekend with amazing horsemen and women who are passionate about horses,” Stewart stated. “Road to the Horse is one of the premiere horse events in the world, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
Stewart has been working with horses and their owners for over 30 years educating thousands of students through his Horse Development Program. He travels extensively delivering horsemanship clinics across Canada, the United States, South America and Europe, in addition to holding camps at his home — The Horse Ranch. For 19 consecutive years, Glenn has led his Learning Holiday Adventure High & Wild in the northeastern Rocky Mountains where Glenn coordinates a program committed to maintaining overall, wild horse herd health.
