This fall, Equine Affaire proudly returns to the Eastern States Exposition for its first in-person event since 2019! Join other like-minded equine enthusiasts from all over the United States and travel to West Springfield, Massachusetts, on November 11-14, 2021, for North America’s premiere equine exposition and equestrian gathering. From educational clinics to exciting competitions to the largest equine-related trade show on the east coast, there’s something for everyone at Equine Affaire!
General admission tickets for Equine Affaire are on sale now. All tickets are digital. General admission tickets include entry to the trade show, theme pavilions, the Versatile Horse & Rider Competition and all clinics, seminars, and demonstrations. General admission tickets are $16/day or $50/four-day pass for adults, $8/day for children ages 7-10 and free for children aged six and under. Keep your tickets stored on your phone or print them off and visit during event hours, which are from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Thursday through Saturday and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. Featured general horsemanship clinicians include respected horseman Ken McNabb, renowned reining and liberty practitioner Dan James, all-around trainer and world-class showman Lynn Palm and natural horseman JR Robles. In between clinics, there’s no end to the horse-themed fun available on the grounds of the Eastern States Exposition during Equine Affaire. With hands-on activities, video presentations and live demonstrations with horses by experts, the Equine Fundamental Forum is a great place to learn all about the basics of equine care and management.

It wouldn’t be Equine Affaire without the Versatile Horse & Rider Competition! This year’s competition will take place in the Coliseum on Friday, November 12. Sponsored by Nutrena®, the Versatile Horse & Rider Competition showcases the partnership and communication between horse and rider and tests each competitor’s horsemanship skills and athletic prowess. Up to 25 horse-and-rider pairs will have the opportunity to traverse a timed obstacle course. Past obstacles have included jumping, backing through patterns, gymkhana games, riding over spooky objects, carrying mini parachutes and much more. Riders will compete for $5,500 in prize money, and you never know who might win. You don’t want to miss this fan-favorite competition, included with general admission.
Make plans today to check out these special event features, brand-new for 2021! First, do you have tack, riding apparel or other horse equipment that you’d like to sell? Consider consigning them at the Equine Affaire Marketplace Consignment Shop! Drop off your items in the morning in Mallary North and our friendly Marketplace staff will sell your items for you while you are off enjoying all the sights. Then come by in the evening or at the end of Equine Affaire to collect your earnings. Also new this year, Equine Affaire is delighted to host the International Liberty Horse Association (ILHA) Freestyle Invitational Competition. Founded by Dan and Elizabeth James, ILHA is dedicated to promoting the discipline of liberty training. In this special competition, select competitors will perform freestyle liberty routines with their equine partners. Compulsories will take place on Saturday, November 13, and the finals will take place on Sunday, November 14. Equine Affaire has also partnered with the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) to offer the IEA Intensive Clinic for young riders. This clinic will take place on Sunday, November 14, and offers an overview of English, Western, ranch and dressage disciplines in the IEA show format. Admission to both events is included with your Equine Affaire ticket.
